Voctada, on May 3rd, 2017, made a request of the Village of Chester Commission, at their regular monthly meeting, for help financing the replacement of the large blue signs at the East and West entrances to Chester on Highway #3. These were the primary entry signs for the Village of Chester. Both signs have been destroyed by plows, time, poor design and the elements.
VOCTADA had asked me to do a review / study of the signage in the Village of Chester. Historically VOCTADA has been responsible for installing most of what I call the Public signage between Steven’s Road in the East and the Windsor Road on the West of the Village of Chester.

A few years ago, Roger Brooks, an expert in the fields of tourism and destination marketing, was hired by Tourism Nova Scotia to do an assessment of the communities along the Bluenose Coast, from Peggy's Cove to Bridgewater.
